Practical, student-to-student support
What can you work on with a coach?
Choose the challenge that feels most important today. Your coach will help you identify a realistic next step and create an action plan.
Time management
Make a weekly plan that balances classes, studying, work, family, and time to recharge.
Organization
Set up simple systems for assignments, deadlines, course materials, and follow-through.
Study strategies
Explore note-taking, test preparation, reading, focus, and study approaches that fit the course.
Goals & motivation
Break a big goal into manageable actions and reconnect with why college matters to you.
Talking with professors
Prepare questions, plan a conversation, and feel more confident asking for clarification or support.
Finding campus resources
Identify tutoring, counseling, health, basic-needs, and other services that can support your plan.
What to expect
A conversation, an action plan, and a next step.
Coaching is collaborative and focused on the skills you want to strengthen. You do not need to prepare a perfect explanation—bring the situation as it is.
- Talk privately with a trained SRJC peer coach.
- Choose one or two priorities for the conversation.
- Leave with a practical action plan.
- Schedule another conversation if continued support would help.

The right kind of support
Coaching supports student skills; it does not replace counseling or health care.
Peer coaches help with habits, strategies, goals, and connection. For education planning or academic decisions, connect with Counseling. For physical or mental health services, connect with Student Health Services.
Take one useful step
You do not need to wait until things feel overwhelming.
A coach can help you make a plan now—whether you are facing a challenge or simply want a stronger routine.
